APPEARANCE
Adrijana is a slender girl that stands at about 5'6" in height. She had thigh-length, pale, strawberry-blonde hair. Usually it is kept quite loose, though she does braid some of it along the front in order to keep it as controlled as possible. Her eyes are a pale blue with some violet undertones. Her skin is a creamy color. As for her clothing choice, outside of school, she prefers to wear skirts, usually pink in color, and black graphic long-sleeved shirts over black tank tops. She also wears white and pink knee-high boots and thigh high tights or socks depending on the weather. She also often wears a black choker with a dual lightning bolt sort of design on it.
PERSONALITY
By no means is Adrijana the type of girl to mess with. She can be quite sarcastic and catty, and definitely knows how to hold her own, most of the time. Once you get to know her, she can be incredibly sweet and personable. She struggles with anger and depression most of the time, though it is getting better now that her brother is attending the school. She feels an incredible amount of remorse regarding the entirety of her family and it is best to keep that subject from coming up. She will always be the type of girl that stands up for what she believes in. She will also not back down when it comes to protecting her friends and her brother.
HISTORY
Adrijana was the first born child of a poor farming family somewhere in the Siberian province. A few years later, her brother Ilija was born. Their parents worked fairly hard to supply for their children, and both of them learned to work on the farm very early in life. While there were only a few years separating them, it felt nearly as if they were twins. Adrijana, helped raise him while his mother did her chores. She would keep a very close eye on him and make sure that he was fed and swaddled correctly and burped regularly, and that he always had clean diapers on.
As they grew a bit older, Adrijana started helping out with little chores, and would have Ilija help in little ways that would hopefully keep him out of danger. When Ilija was just 4 years old, Adrijana being 7, they had the task of milking the cow that morning. Ilija was to hold the bucket, and Adri was meant to do the milking. Now, their two cows were usually very calm and mild tempered, and usually had no problem with the children doing this task with their mother present, but this was the first time that they would be doing it on their own. They were both fairly nervous, but Adri was confident that they would be able to do it without a problem. She was wrong.
Things were going well at first, but something spooked the cow about halfway through, and while Adri tried to calm the cow down, it thrashed about and kicked Ilija right in the sternum, hard enough to crack it and dislocate a few of his ribs. He was very lucky that it did not stop his heart or pierce his lungs, but it would cause breathing problems for the rest of his life.
Adrijana didn't leave his side the whole time he was in the hospital, or during his recovery at home, despite the fact that her parents wanted to send her off to school. Once he was recovered enough, it was obvious that the boy would get ill quite easily, and that he could no longer work on the farm. One year, when he was nearing 10 years old, he got pneumonia. He was the sickest that he had ever been, and they feared the worst. His parents began to make arrangements, just in case. Adrijana never gave up hope, but it did not look like he was going to recover. He stayed sick for months. All the while, she was trying to focus on school, as well as keeping up with the chores of the farm, which really started to take its toll on her.
Then he took a turn for the worse. They packed him up and took him to the hospital, where they were sure that they would have to say goodbye, leaving Adrijana at home to tend to the farm while they took turns tending to Ilija in the city. Adrijana tried going to school during that time, but her focus kept being drawn back to her brother. She always blamed herself for him getting sick, and this time, he was going to die. At least that was what her parents told her.
One day, she just couldn't do it anymore. She packed a back of her things and never looked back, hitch-hiking her way to the city, in the hopes of seeing her brother one last time before she tried to figure out what it would take to survive on her own. But she never got that choice. Instead, she was approached by Pestilence, who told her that if she went with them, that they would be able to teach her how to harness the powers of illness, and maybe in a few years, she could heal her brother. So she began her life at the academy.
That was three years ago. At first, she struggled, going from being nervous and soft-spoken, to getting into fights every other day. She struggled with her grades at first, but then she really started to take school life seriously, and pushed herself to learn all that she could after being reminded that Ilija's life could be at stake.
Seeing him again was something she was sure that she would ever get the chance to do, but there he was at the entrance ceremony. Now, all she focuses on is trying to make things right with her brother.
