Face Claim: ONMYOJI // Susabi
APPEARANCE
Sae'irin stands at about six feet tall and weighs approximately 156 lbs with an athletic yet muscular build. His skin tone is a light tan in the summer and a bit paler during the winter. His hair is a chaotic mess and never seems to sit in a correct manner most of the time, though he is able to make it look nice enough and can tie it back from time to time. When one looks at his hair, it looks as though it is made of smoke from various fires. His eyes are a stormy blue that can be cruel and ruthless, only ever softening when he is around the single person who can tame him the most. He wears casual clothing mostly, preferring to remain in comfort than have to look too formal. However, he will wear something nicer for a formal event should it come to that. He wears a necklace with a ring on it that he keeps under his shirt as well as a ring he received when he was originally a harbinger of War. He has a single earring in his left ear of a crescent moon.
PERSONALITY
Sae'irin is a rather cruel and destructive person who enjoys the misery of others. He tends to be manipulative and strives to create chaos when he is able to, be it from just a small thing to bother someone to war itself. He is extremely possessive over those he believes are rightfully his. He can be physically abusive to those who he believes need to be put in line or just irk him. He does not seem to have that much of a gentle side and just gives off a rather intimidating air about him whenever he walks anywhere around people. He demands respect and intends to receive it one way or another. He is also very condoning of punishment and will occasionally serve some himself, yet his are by far the worse than other punishments handed out by the staff members.
HISTORY
Sae'irin had anything but a nice childhood growing up. His mother was forced to have him by a man who had kidnapped her, soon disposing her after he was eventually born and able to be weened off of his mother's milk. He was raised by that man he would come to know as his father, often being punished for doing anything wrong in his father's eyes. He doesn't remember anything about his mother nor does he really care to know anything about her. He practiced the art of being a blacksmith, due to his father being one, and mostly ran off to wander the town when he could. He would get into fights with the other children who wandered the streets as well, often being the one instigating such fights. He sought to gain control and power back by being the bully, by hurting others.
At home he would find stray animals and do just that - hurt them. It was thrilling and empowering to him, something he didn't have in his home life. Years passed and he was still just as much of a delinquent the more he grew. He was eventually sent away by his father, sold to a merchant who had passed through their town to be a servant. However, much to the merchant's ignorance Sae'irin was anything but obedient. He feigned being obedient for the first few weeks, merely calculating and mentally taking notes about the merchant and his daily routines. Honestly he wanted to get out and gain control again but...if he just killed him outright there would be trouble for him.
He slowly began to push his boundaries, resisting commands and pretending to not hear the merchant. Life was still not easy, nor could he figure out a way to escape without murdering the damned man who was his current master. How the urge to spill his blood came up nearly every night, filled his dreams even. Yet he knew he'd be blamed and, most definitely, be put to death. No, he didn't want to roll over and serve these monsters nor did he want to be executed by them. Things had to change, he had to climb and gain control. Control that only he could achieve through his own means. It was during one of their long trips to a different city to trade goods when Sae'irin finally decided enough was enough. He was about sixteen at the time and had sabotaged the wagon's wheel the prior night while the merchant was asleep. With one hit of a rock on the road the wheel broke, forcing them to come to a stop to assess the problem. Naturally the merchant was furious and yelled at the teen about how he hadn't been careful on checking the wheel and whatnot.
No one was within miles of them and Sae'irin figured now was as good of a time as any to rid himself of the dreaded man. While the man's back was turned to him, Sae'irin quietly picked up a rock about the size of his hand and moved closer to the man, waiting a few moments before striking. He slammed the rock over and over against the man's head, pausing only to climb on top of his fallen body to continue the assault until his arm grew tired of the effort. Blood had splattered onto his clothes and face, blood slipping past his lips to leave a metallic taste as he panted heavily and came to realize what he had done. Yet...he felt nothing. He felt no remorse nor regret for the murder he had committed. No, he felt...powerful. Free.
A grin had spread across his face and soon enough the air could be filled with mad cackles from the young man, the bloody rock dropping to the ground next to him. How amazing it had felt! How he wanted more of it! However, unbeknownst to him he had been being watched from a distance by two individuals that were unlike other people. He had eventually finished his cackling and the adrenaline of the kill began to wear off. He had gotten himself up and moved to clean himself up and change clothes, as well as packing as many valuables and food as he could in a knapsack. He was not going to stick around, nor was he going to be at the mercy of others any longer. He had cut the horses that had been pulling the wagon free and set fire to the stranded wagon, not bothering to have dragged the body of the merchant into it. Both animals tried to escape but he only really allowed one to run free while he climbed atop the other, only to be thrown in a cruel twist of karma and hit his head against a rock in the field next to the road.
He was in and out of consciousness but when he had eventually regained it he found himself in an odd place. The floor beneath him was made of stone, in fact...everything was. The bed he was actually on, a ledge to be the form of a seat...it was all very...odd. A man eventually approached him, having not noticed the man in the corner of the room despite his fiery appearance, and briefly checked on him before giving a small nod. Before Sae'irin could even make a move or speak a word, the man before him offered him a chance to regain the power that had so cruelly been ripped away from him. This had indeed piqued his interest so the young man listened to what such a thing was. To become the next War, a harbinger of Chaos. Honestly he didn't really believe any of it at the time but he yearned for power that he accepted the role.
It took time but he was taught how to control his rage and how to manipulate people, to create fights between others without even lifting a finger. He enjoyed every aspect of it, thrived in it even. He was eventually taken to a school that he believed was just a waste of time but there he was able to hone his skills as the next War even further. It took quite some time to get that far, but when he was given that ring...he felt so powerful. Yet there was one trial he had not been prepared for - facing himself and everything he had done.
It had felt like days had gone by before he had finally come to terms with who he was as a person, who he was to become, and who he had been before. It was difficult, extremely so, but he managed to succeed and the War that had taken him in chose to retire and have him take their place. The power that came with that was so much, and he craved it even more so. He was under the control of the current Chaos and followed his every command with near glee at the prospect of hurting someone. He hadn't paid much attention to the other harbingers but there was one who had caught his attention once or twice, especially since she was traded from Chaos to Peace. How odd. Why would that happen? When he could he would observe this harbinger from afar when he was not doing anything else, curious and confused about her. From such a vengeful state to one of peace...what had happened?
It wasn't too long before this harbinger had taken Peace's place, and oh how he felt the rage of Chaos from it. However, it wasn't too long until he, too, was able to ascend as well. He could only imagine the previous Chaos had grown bored and decided to retire, maybe out of spite, after bestowing a gift unto the new Peace. It was about then that he was told that he would take the place of Chaos, to seek out the destruction and inflict harm on those he saw fit. He had no qualms about that, and that would only mean more power for him. Sae'irin readily accepted this position and ascended to this role, which led him to another problem. What was he going to do about that previous Death that was now Peace?
