Face Claim: NOBLESSE // cadis etrama di raizel
APPEARANCE
Sorin has scarlet-red eyes that stand out thanks to his pale skin and jet black hair that is long enough to partially cover an eye and barely reach his collar bone, the back of it reaching just the nape of his neck. He weighs approximately 165 lbs and stands a six feet tall with a slender, yet fit, build. His right ear is pierced three times; two, small silver studs along the side and one on the lobe where a ruby or silver stud is located which is occasionally switched out with a silver cross earring.
He often wears shirts that have soft fabrics, mainly due to the fact he likes the way it feels on his skin. He can usually be seen in fashionable clothing but also a simple dark shirt with pants that go with it. He usually dons a lighter colored suit for work purposes. His fingertips are a bit resistant to pressure, heat, and friction due to the fact that he had gained calluses from playing the violin.
PERSONALITY
Sorin despises liars and is one to tell the truth most of the time, psychologically gaining pain whenever he tells a direct lie. He is also quite the arrogant fellow, often acting and viewing himself like he is better than everyone else. However, he can be a patient person and listen when someone needs help or just someone to talk to. Despite seeming like a rather apathetic person, he can show a more personal or humane side of himself to people one on one or with people he is close to.
It takes a bit for him to warm up to someone due to wanting to get to know someone first before he decides to open up to someone new, thus seeming cold or aloof when first meeting him. He is not one to really be kind to those who cross him or those he is close to, often times being petty towards those who did wrong for a little while. However, he can be rather protective of those he becomes close to; often not wanting anything bad happening to them and trying to do everything he can to help them with the best of his ability. Despite also being seen as cold and mean, he's been known to donate to charities and volunteer at shelters for both humans and animals alike.
HISTORY
Sorin came from a town somewhere in Romania to a simple family. Life wasn't all that grand for Sorin as he grew up, due to having to live with an abused mother and an alcoholic father who was also paranoid about everything. He had a couple of other siblings during his life in Romania as well, though he couldn't say that they had much of a nice time growing up as well. His father, during drunken episodes, would beat him and his siblings, along with their mother, if he thought any of them were lying to him. So much so that Sorin had begun to keep telling the truth despite consequences for either himself or others because he did not want to be beaten for a lie he told. While his father was sober he would emotionally abuse his mother for the most part and neglect him and his siblings until he was done berating and belittling their mother.
This carried on for years, though he held himself to a standard when out in public that he was fine and better than others. He wouldn't give people the satisfaction that he wasn't fine, that life back at his home wasn't all that good. He didn't want to appear weak to people. Sorin wouldn't easily get close to people, more due to the fact he didn't want them to find out somehow about his home life. Though when he did manage to make close friends he would find excuses to stay with them or to keep them away from his own home. He didn't want them to get involved in the drama he constantly has to live with.
About towards the end of his primary schooling, Sorin had had enough of the abuse from his father. He didn't want to see his siblings or his now pathetic mother to suffer any longer. After his father had passed out from being drunk once again, Sorin had decided to finally take matters into his own hands. He had taken a knife from the kitchen and stood over his father as he laid on the couch, watching him for a few minutes as he steeled himself to do this unspeakable act he was going to do. After a few minutes he worked up his pain and contempt he held for his father before striking him in the face and chest several times until his arms grew tired.
Blood was...definitely in many places and on himself. He wasn't sure how long it had been before the police had been called, and of course they had taken him in and questioned him thoroughly; all of which he answered truthfully in fear of pain for lying. His siblings were placed in foster care and his mother taken to a mental hospital whereas he was placed in juvenile detention. He accepted his punishment for killing his father, though he also did not try to get close to others all that much for he did not wish to speak of his past either. Though during this time a person approached him, speaking of a school where he could be someone he was truly meant to be; to have a greater purpose and to not be hurt again.
Of course, he couldn't just slip away in the dead of night so it had come to an agreement that this being who approached him would speak to the person in charge of him to convince them to let him leave for this school. Naturally this being twisted their words just enough to convince them that this school would be a form of juvenile detention that could better him. Or something like that. Sorin found himself soon after that meeting packing what valuables he had to go and attend this school and came to know the person who approached him was the harbinger of Death. He spent the first two years there doing human courses as well as learning English and opening himself up to people more. He had no problems with his past or with who he was now, his one goal merely to complete his schooling at the academy and to do what he was meant to do there.
After his fourth year he failed to gain a mount, though he was offered a position at the school to help teach those who followed in the years to come. He accepted, feeling as though perhaps that was why he was there. To help guide people to maybe help them reach their purpose in life and on the paths that were laid out for them as a history teacher in an attempt to show them the paths of those before them.
