Face Claim: TOUKEN RANBU // Tarotachi
APPEARANCE
Airh'rhie stands at about 6'2" or so and is very lithe and lean. He has very long black hair, which he usually keeps tied up in a neat and tight pony tail, though he keeps some of his hair out of the band to frame his face. He has very golden colored eyes, that under certain circumstances, seem to give off a soft golden glow. He has pale skin. He likes to dress in fine silk shirts, usually white in color, and will only dress in the best that humanity has to offer.
PERSONALITY
Airh'Rhie is very reserved, collected, and calm. He is always sure of himself, and the air around him is often full of confidence. He does not allow disrespectful behavior, and he does severely punish those that need it. He usually doesn't let someone off the hook with a slap on the wrist. However, he is a firm believer in second chances. He believes that everyone has some good inside of them somewhere, and he is rather determined to help them find it. He is usually very quiet, unless something absolutely needs his words. He is terribly wise, and has the most unbiased judgement. He is rather fair, even though sometimes a bit of harshness is needed.
He simply seems at peace with things, all the time. He is rather calculating and logical, and he's perfectly fine with that. The only time anyone has really ever seen a smile on his face is when someone he has been helping accomplishes a great achievement.
HISTORY
For the most part, he had a decent childhood. He never knew abuse or neglect, he never knew what it was like to go without. He was always such a happy, albeit spoiled, child. And then, one day, everything changed for him. A hurricane hit his part of the world and everything was swept away, his parents included. no one knew that he existed and he wandered the streets, scared and alone for nearly a week before that part of the city was opened up again.
He was kept in a hospital for a little while to try and get over the trauma of the event, but he didn't. When he was released into foster care, he wouldn't eat. He wouldn't play with toys. For the longest time he just locked himself away from it all. His foster parents were concerned, but eventually they had to give him up, as they didn't know what else to do. Again he wound up in the hospital, but this time it was for dropping so much weight and not getting enough exercise that he became very frail and fragile.
After a bit of time, he seemed to finally be getting himself back to a normal state of mind. He went to school and made friends. His new family was good to him and supported him for awhile. But like most kids in the system, he got bounced around from house to house, which was even more devastating. By the time he hit middle school, he was placed with a very difficult family that was strict and had awful rules. One was involving food, which he was incredibly picky about. If he didn't eat it, he would be locked in a closet until he did. He would sit in that closet for days at a time.
His skin got even paler than normal from the lack of sunlight and vitamins, and once again he began to drop weight. But he refused to eat the things that made his picky senses and his picky stomach hurt. Eventually he had missed enough days of school that the truancy officers came to find him and found the state of the foster home and wound up calling child services.
Once more, he was hauled to the hospital, only he was very near dead this time. He could have swore he had seen a little girl there, whispering in his ear while he slept, telling him that it would be all over soon, but not right now. Right now was not his time, and he would have to hang on just a little longer if he wanted to see everything that life had to offer.
When he finally woke, he learned that his foster parents had been arrested and that they would find him placement as soon as possible, but he shook his head. He was to be legally emancipated and soon enough made his way to a very prestigious school all the way across the country. He had never been anywhere so vibrant before.
Upon arriving at the school, he was greeted by that same girl he had seen, that he had thought he had dreamed of. When it came time to take his place among the students, he was very nervous, and wasn't so sure that he really belonged anywhere among them. But he did, and he flourished. He struggled for quite sometime with who he was and what it was that he was here to become. Famine they called him. Was that really what he was supposed to be?
By his Third Year, he had truly accepted everything and dedicated himself to the role that was given to him. His Fourth Year, he got through the trial that tested his limits, putting him once more in that closet to see if he could once again survive with nothing, despite his overwhelming desire to want everything the world had to offer.
During his trial, he found a sort of peace with things. He sat in a meditative state until he was eventually told that it was over. People cheered for him as he emerged. From there, he was brought to the stables to finally accept his mount.
After graduation, he was brought before the headmasters and asked if he would be willing to fill the spot of the current Famine, who was looking to retire. He agreed and began his apprenticeship. After a bit of time, he was allowed to take over for his mentor, and he has been Famine ever since.
