APPEARANCE

Nikolas stands about 5'4" and weighs approximately 117 lbs with a lithe build due to not eating as much as he should. His skin is a bit on the pale side yet burns easily should he stay in the sunlight for too long. His hair is a ruffled grey hair and he has blue eyes. Nikolas is known to fiddle with his hair when he is nervous or uncomfortable, often times wanting his hair to be in his face a bit to 'hide'. He can be normally seen in the school uniform and with small, dark bags under his eyes due to insomnia. During the time where he does not have to attend school, he can be found in comfortable pants and a sweatshirt, the sleeves covering half of his palms, if not the rare T-shirt he'll put on.

Under his right eye, he has a temporary, blue henna tattoo that will last for a few days before washing off.

PERSONALITY
Nikolas is a rather timid individual, often gaining social anxiety when in crowds. He has a bit of a difficult time making friends due to his timidness to interact with complete strangers. Once comfortable around someone, however, he'll want to try and stick by them or follow them around as a sense of security towards himself. He does his best to focus on his schoolwork and be a good student, not really thinking much of the social need to make friends despite how much he should probably have some. When he looks up to someone he will strive to try and do things that would make that person proud of him, or to even just acknowledge what he did.

When uncomfortable or just nervous, Nikolas can be seen fiddling with his hands, hair, or sleeves in an effort to preoccupy his mind from whatever it is that is making him feel so. However, when he is comfortable around some people he can be known to laugh, joke around, and just interact with them like...well, a normal person. Despite being a bit clingy that is.

HISTORY

Nikolas's upbringing was rather mundane and normal. He had two loving parents and three other siblings, all happy and content in life. However, his parents seemed to give more attention to his other siblings more than him. He tried to do things around the house that would gain him positive attention from them, but everything he did seemed to just not be good enough. His siblings were praised by whatever they did and given big parties for their birthdays, meanwhile Nikolas was just...there. His birthdays were small, mostly due to him not having that many friends and not knowing what to do during a party, and his siblings would often steal the spotlight on his special day that came only once a year. A day he came to not look forward to all that much over how it became less about him and more about his siblings anyway.

He would often have a difficult time sleeping, most time crying as he hugged a stuffed animal that he had been given years ago. He began to eat less during meals in hopes that his parents would notice and try to do something, but they didn't much to his misfortune. A few months passed and soon he began to get visits from a man with golden eyes. At first he figured this was just hallucinations due to his lack of sleep, that he was going crazy. Though sure enough the man was certainly real, and spoke to him of a school that he could go to. Away from his family and to take on an important role. He was uncertain about this, naturally, but...if he went perhaps this person would approve and pay attention to him.

Nikolas eventually agreed and soon enough left with the man to this school far from where he had originally lived. It took some time for him to get adjusted to his new life at this boarding school, often times trying to seek out the man, who he had come to know as the Famine, and trying to stick close to him. He still has a bit of a hard time making friends at school, often slinking back into that habit of his to keep his head down.
